Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully. By using this website and ordering from us, you agree to the conditions set out below.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Dowels 4 Africa website, and any orders you place with us. They form a binding agreement between you and Dowels 4 Africa. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use this website or place an order.
1. Definitions
“We”, “us” and “our” refer to Dowels 4 Africa. “You” and “your” refer to the user of this website or the customer placing an order. “Products” refers to the dowels, handles, sticks and related timber goods we manufacture and supply.
2. Products & Descriptions
We take care to describe our Products accurately, including dimensions, timber species and finishes. As our Products are manufactured from natural timber, slight variations in colour, grain and texture are normal and are not defects. Images on this website are for illustration and may not reflect exact appearance.
3. Quotes & Pricing
Prices shown on this website are indicative and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. All quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote and are subject to change based on quantity, specification, timber availability and prevailing material costs. A quote does not constitute a binding offer until confirmed by us in writing.
4. Orders
Orders are placed via our quote request process or by direct arrangement. An order is only confirmed once we have accepted it and, where applicable, received the required deposit or payment. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order, including where Products are unavailable or where pricing errors occur.
5. Payment
Payment terms will be specified on your invoice or quote. Unless otherwise agreed, full payment or an agreed deposit is required before manufacture or dispatch. We reserve the right to withhold delivery until payment has cleared.
6. Delivery & Collection
Delivery timeframes are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control. Risk in the Products passes to you upon delivery or collection. Where you arrange your own transport, risk passes once the Products leave our premises.
7. Returns & Cancellations
Custom-made and cut-to-order Products cannot be returned or cancelled once manufacture has begun, except where the Products are defective. Standard stock items may be returned within a reasonable period, unused and in original condition, subject to our agreement. Defective Products will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion in line with the Consumer Protection Act.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, layout and design — is owned by or licensed to Dowels 4 Africa and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or use any content without our prior written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dowels 4 Africa will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or our Products. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
10. Use of the Website
You agree to use this website lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, security or availability. We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time without notice.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
